Enough parts are included for four sets of mount holes.
Some striker models have only two holes,
leaving two sets in this kit unused, or as spares.
   Suggested tooling:

  Nut driver

Note: Flanged Bearings are recommended
for use with mount loops equipped with only two retainer holes.
     

 

  Bushman TekBits BM9026-FBRK

Fits a Bushman TekBits Flint and Steel Striker
equipped with a "BTB Ball Bearing Mount ".
Converts a compatible Striker to a Bow Drill Ball Bearing Block.

Ball bearings have almost no friction compared to the standard divits as provided on some strikers and knives.
Ball bearings don't generate heat in your hand,
as standard divits do.

The bow drill spindle is tapered to fit and contact
only the bearing inner surface.
Pressure or hard rubbing on the bearing seal could damage it.

Bearing can be installed into the Striker (without retainer hardware) and held in place with small dabs of RTV adhesive,
wood slivers or similar.
The bearing flange removes the load from the adhesive
while bow drilling.
For more positive and field removable bearing retention,
the included hardware can be installed.
Retainer hardware will prevent accidental bearing loss
even under the worse handling conditions.
Finger tighten screws, as only slight pressure is needed
to hold the bearing in place.
Over tightening could damage the included nylon spacers.
